Hi I am looking for a great RV Park for a long term 3-4 month stay next winter.
We are currently in Dunedin and want to move farther south to get more warmth. Doing a bit of research now so we can visit potential parks while we are down here.

Thanks

Kevin

Hi KevinB,
Welcome to iRV2. If you'd like to stay warm, consider Sunshine Key RV Resort and Marina Reservations | Big Pine Key Campgrounds . It is at mile marker 39 in the Keys. The farther South one gets the more expensive everything gets.

All along State Route 80 there are many RV CGs. Also, all around Lake Okeechobee. There are at least twenty I know of.

Consider getting the TL CG Directory. Find the towns of:
La Belle
Clewiston
South Bay
Okeechobee
Lake Port
Loxahatchee
Lake Worth

You'll find many CGs that you can take a look at.

How far south do you want to go?

We have found 2 very nice parks.

- Wilderness RV Resort near Silver Springs, FL
- Bonita Lake RV Park in Bonita Springs.

I would recommend either and when we was there in Dec and Jan, there was plenty of available sites at both.

I would go at least to Fort Myers or Naples, just got back from Pine Island last weekend it was 65-75 and sunny, very very nice weather down there, and the beach is awsome.

We wintered this year at Markham County Park (just north of Miami) and really enjoyed it. We're nature-lovers and look for lots of space and greenery (can't abide being squashed in with other RVs) and Markham delivered beautifully on that. Weather was good. Apart from a few cold spells, it's been wonderful and flip-flop temps most of the time.

If you're interested you can see pics of the place on my blog here: CP Campground Rating – Markham Park, Sunrise, FL | Wheeling It

Gotta agree with GaryKD on this. Want warm in Fl? Go to the Keys. 79 here already before noon. Water surface temp is 74. Should call for reservations ahead though. CG we are in started to really fill up Feb 1st

We stay at Knight's Key. Really laid back place. No sewer connections but they do have a honey wagon to pump out your holding tanks. Some sites right on the ocean.

Only problem down here is what they call "Keys Disease". Alcohol goes in, almost no activity comes out. I'm pretty sure Jimmy Buffet did a song about it.
