Wife and I are ready to take a short trip in the MH for a week or so. Thinking of Ocean Lakes in South Carolina, but am open to suggestions. Water isn't a must but preferred. We'll be originating the trip from Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Stop at the Biltmor Estate in Asheville, NC on the way down. It will be decorated for Christmas.

Ocean Lakes at Myrtle Beach is hard to beat. Charleston, SC is another option. If you could get into James Island Campground (usually books up during the holidays) they also have elaborate lights decorating the entire park. The Mt. Pleasant KOA on the north end of the bridge in Charleston will put you near Patriot's Point where the USS Yorktown is on display.
If you go to Myrtle Beach, be sure to see either (or both) the Christmas shows at Carolina Opry or Alabama Theater...hard to beat.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think we'll head down towards Atlanta to stop in and see some friends for a day, the hit James Island for a couple days and finish up at Ocean Lakes.
I'm not sure if I should just tow my Jeep or bring my enclosed trailer and put the Jeep on it. (32' trailer...I prefer to tow the trailer over the TOAD but not sure if the Campgrounds will accommodate the length)

If you're OK with state parks, Huntington Beach State Park in Pawleys Island SC (South of Myrtle Beach) is a great park. Close to great sea food, less congestion than MB, across the road from Brookgreen Gardens, yet still close enough to MB for all the glitz, shopping, and entertainment. HBSP has full hookups at select sites, a great beach, and a nice marsh boardwalk. They used to allow you to crab there but too many people messed with the aligators.
