Thanks..seems like a mega park model park..Not really what are looking for. Superstition View has ground set casita's with your own port for your rv. I just cant seem to find any current or past owner/residents that can fill me in on the real deal. The sales staff talk it up of course lol..

Superstition
We are also interested in Superstition and plan to visit on our way back to CO in April. Like the idea of the Casita with RV port. It does seem to be hard to get answers from the staff.
Are there other places in the warm winter areas like it? I have not been able to find any other than Indio, too pricey for my blood.
Would love to hear from owners or ex-owners also.
Thanks,

Will do...btw pretty darn hot there in July. But it wont be crowded at least. Fortrider, Ratama Village in Mission Tx is simular to superstition view. We are here now at their rv park Bentsen Palm Village. Pretty pricey and right on the Mexican border with all those issues. The area is very busy and to hectic for us. Helicopters on low night patrol along the river and over the park.

Yep-- it will be hot there then... we are planning to visit family in the area and then visit some of the parks in Utah
and revisit Yellowstone and a few other places. Hope to spend a few months driving around

We are here at Superstition Views... there are actually 2 parks side by side, Canyon Vistas which has traditional park models and Superstition Views. The grounds for both are well kept, Superstition Views has it's own gated entrance/exit but also shares the main entrance with Canyon Vistas.
In a nutshell what they're doing at Superstition Views is taking a prebuilt park model and adding a custom garage, carport, rooftop patio, RV carport and/or a combination of all built to your specifications. Then they stucco over the park model & the custom build so that they appear to be a single permanent structure on the lot. The lots are larger than the typical park model lots, allowing space for an RV in addition to the park model (something we haven't found elsewhere). The larger lots combined with the stucco finish give the neighborhood a much more upscale look than your typical park model community. The model homes have lower end amenities than you find in your typical new homes... no granite countertops or tile floors, but these may be upgradable options (we have not spoken to a salesperson to date).
If you are looking for an RV community with all the amenities and activities of an upscale park model resort with the look of a nice neighborhood rather than a trailer park, Superstition Views is a great option.

We stayed at Retama Village for the winter in 2010. We leased a spot from the owner for $575/mo. Very reasonable for an upscale development. For us it was very quiet and peaceful as Retama Village and Bentsen Palm are away from town and the traffic. We walked every day through the adjacent Bentsen State Park and bicycled the paths around the area.
We didn't see any illegal immigrant activity but did see some helicopters. The Border Patrol had a large presence and patrolled the area very well. Our experience was very enjoyable and I would go back for another winter.
