Any advice on a nice economical (under $35) campsite in the Surprise, Az or Phoenix, Az area? We would like to stay a week or more. Thanks for any suggestions.

Jerry-I grew up in that area and there are a ton of RV parks that you could stay in for that amount.I would get on the net or get a phone book and make a few calls.Personally,I would just drive down there and find one I like. There are a few parks who fill up with regulars, but even those have a few no-shows and those spaces can be gotten very reasonably.I don't think you'll have any trouble finding something.

Maybe I shot too quick from the hip on that one.Are you looking for a state or national type park?

Thanks! I will check out the phone books. I have a 2 year old Trailer Life and Escapees book but the phone book is a good idea. Many good sites around the country are not listed in the rv books.

Jerry-Lake Pleasant has a campground,I believe it's a state leased park about 15 miles N of the area you want. It's on the road between Wickenburg and the Black Canyon freeway. The last time we stayed there it was about $20 a day

We are staying at the Cotton Lane RV and Golf Resort in Goodyear, AZ. We also were looking for something in the Surpise area.
Rate is $145.00 per week and what a nice RV park.
Sites are oversize 50dx40w Park was built about 12 years ago.

We decided on Desert's Edge in Happy Valley area of N. Phoenix. It is right off the Black Canyon Hwy (I-17). It is a nice campground, excellent Verizon service, pool, clean, friendly and $575 including w/s/e for a month. I will visit again.
