Hi again!

We are planning to be in the New Mexico area for most of the month of December.

We'd like to avoid any heavily congested areas....... and prefer an "adult" park but that's not a HUGE deal.

Would REALLY appreciate some information, suggestions, helpful hints about RV parks in the south west or south central areas of NM.

My husband is a rockhound and I see there's a park called, "Rockhound State Park." Is there an RV park nearby? Is it a good location/area to check out?

As you can tell, we are new new newbies at this and just trying to gather any/all information we can before we head south from South Dakota.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!

Howdy!

Rock Hound ST is a nice park located outside of of Deming, NM but don't recall if they have FHU's. We like to stay at "Dream Catcher RV park", it is and Escapees park located on the east side of Deming. Nice, clean, very friendly. Check with the Dream Catcher's RV park manager Wallace. He is a rock hound also. There is several great places around the area to rock hound for geode's. Deming also has a rock club if you plan on being there a while.

when we do our one nighter in Deming, we stay at Little Vineyard rv park. Its convenient for us, and they have a very nice small indoor pool. We have not gone to Rockhound State park, as we are enroute to Quartzsite Arizona for our rock hounding and gold prospecting.

There is a decent amount of RV places to stay in and around Deming for the size of the town. When we looked at a few a couple years ago the prices were reasonable, especially when compared to the Tucson area.

Dream catcher escapee park is very nice park--basic but very reasonable and friendly folk. Just keep in mind that that area gets very chilly at night in Dec. We had a number of nights below freezing and in the teens last year in Dec. By mid Dec, we decided it was just colder at night than we wanted to spend time in, as we lived in MN all our life and wanted to warm and sun. Moved over to Yuma-big difference in climate.

But if that doesn't matter to you-Deming is not congested and a nice little town.
