Tahoe Campground

Looking for a good campground with cabins near Tahoe for a family reunion in 2019. A separate gathering shelter would be a nice. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We’re staying at Meeks Resort in July for 3 days. The campground is pretty close to the shore from what I’ve read.

Zephyr Cove has been my spot off and on for 35 years. About 8 minutes north of state line casinos. RV spots in the trees and cabins are almost on the lake shore. Gathering shelter I don't recall, but a ton of beach is available and lots of toys to rent. MS Dixie paddle wheeler docks there also! zephyrcove.com

William Kent is a federal campground on the west side. It has yurts scattered around the camp sites. No services but nice spread out campground. Not on water, but close. Near homewood.

Thanks for the replies, we have such a big group we need a big place, looking at Camp Richardson right on the lake. Seems to have many options and everything we need. Anybody stayed there? Feedback would be appreciated.

Camp Rich is a great area for groups if you can get in. July and August are very, very, very busy in Tahoe, but Camp Rich is the busiest. Close to the water, the Beacon restaurant with their Rumrunners, and they’ve done a lot of clean up to the park. Tahoe Valley Campground isn’t close to the water, but they have added some nice park models for those who don’t have an RV. They also have rental trailers.
