Snowbirds, full-timers, may have a greater interest in this,

I found in on another discussion forum and thought it worthy of posting for our members. $189 for 30 days sounds like a deal to me.

We have been going to Tampa East for past 5+ years. It's a great place off of exit 14 I-4. We have the 3 month special $750.

Check my math, but $189 for 30 days comes out to $567 for 90 days so R&L you should renegotiate your rates!

Do these bargain rates include electric or is it additional?

Per website this "introductory offer" is for a maximum of 30 days.

wkdwitch, electric is extra per website, did you miss it?

Not only is the $189 good for only 30 days, it is also only for first-timers, and it expires Dec. 31. The snowbird season doesn't start in earnest until mid-January, after which time the rates are higher. However, it would be worth checking out, especially if you're going to be there before the end of Dec.

I'm headed to Tampa in a couple of weeks and have been searching the internet. I will be there for work for 5 months. Yes this is a good deal for 1 mo but the site looks remote. I also have questions about facilities. Is it in good shape? Have others compared to other sites in the area?

My house that I've been renting out to my ex is just 3 miles from that RV park. Gimme $150 a week INCLUDING electric, and I'll let you park in the driveway while your down here! Hell, I even have a a cold six pack in the fridge waiting for ya! You can dump your tanks in a sewer grate 100 feet down the street. That's how I did it for 5 years when I was parked in the driveway.

It's just off of I-4, about 20-25 minutes (with no traffic) to downtown Tampa. About 50 minutes to Disney world. Hard Rock casino is about 12 minutes. There is a Camping World and LazyDays 1 exit down about 5 miles. It is near the Strawberry groves, with not much around it but farmland. There is a Burger King, McD's, couple of convenience stores just up the street.

The closest decent Mall is about 15 minutes away in Brandon. It's just a few miles past the edge of the Suburban sprawl of Tampa. I lived right on the edge of that suburb. A little out of the way, but convenient to everything as its right by the two major Interstate Intersections of I-75 and I-4 .

They have a pool, shuffleboard, etc, out front when I pass by on my way to the Interstate, but always seem to do good business. Never heard of any real crime problems there. The area itself is pretty rural. I'm a boondocker myself, so I don't do the parks. Can't tell you about management or anything.

I'd say, for that price it's a fair bet to start with, then look around the area and see if there's anything better you like. I have a feeling with the economy this year, there will be some SERIOUS deal-cutting.

BTW PlaneMech....what planes do you work on? I have a aRans s-14 experimental and repair the Rotax's. But I've been "unofficially" keeping friend's certified stuff in the air for years as my Pop was rural pilot... Built 4 planes of my own so far....

Thanks folks. I booked a site for 6 mo. for cheaper than Wetboy offered!! Sorry man. RE your question: I will be working for Pemco on the airliners but my preference is for older smaller stuff. I have become somewhat of a Stinson specialist. Most of my time tho is on Hughes 500 helicopters. I took up this line of work after retiring just for fun and have been fortunate to have a wide varietyof experience. Worked on P2V retardent tankers this spring. Send a private message if you need any help while I'm there. I am an IA.
