Tampa to Pan Handle

Looking to travel up Rt 19 and then to the pan handle. Would like to stop at a couple campgrounds along the way to the Alabama border. Any suggestions?

Good choice going up 19 vs 75N. Big section down to two lanes with no place to go if anyone has a problem, can back up for hours. We liked St. Georges island just off Apalachicola. If you can get in it's very nice and right across from the beach.

We stopped at Ellie Ray's RV Resort & Lounge last year just to check it out.... looks well maintained in a nice country setting.
This place RV Camping Park & Resort in Mayo, FL | Suwannee River Rendezvous also looks interesting... I haven't been there, but talked to them at the RV show

We stayed at the Carrabelle Beach RV resort, just east of Apalachiola in late April. Very quite and clean, and just a short walk across the road to the beach on the bay. The sites are not large, but as newbies, we really enjoyed our stay there and would consider going back. We wanted an early beach trip, and was not interested in the western panhandle scene.

It's just a 20 minute drive out to St George Island (really wonderful beach!) and we did check out the cg in the park, it was ok. Certainly more " state park" than "RV park". There were also several other RV parks along the highway between Carabeele and Apalachiola, but it appeared by just driving by, Carrabeelle Beach RV resort was a bit nicer.

Some FL State Parks are in St. George, St. Joseph Peninsula, Grayton Beach, and Topsail. All can handle 35 ft or more.

forgot to mention Rainbow River ... great tubing!

Manatee State park is half way, we really enjoyed it. Topsail awesome but I think it is very popular this time of year.

Manatee is very much a nature thing, you can even swim with them there, great one night stay.

Pine island Low Key Hidaway is small motel and campsites. Only 3campsites on the water. Has a Teki bar connected that is a gas. Cedar Key is a small Key West tourist town. It is worth the 20 miles out of the way. If your looking for pools and water slide this isn't for you.
