Last years IRV2 rally was held at River Plantation. If you want to be based in Sevierville, this would be as good as any.

If your main goal is to tour the park, I'd probably head for Gatlinburg so as to avoid the horrendous traffic between Sevierville and the park entrance. It's been a few years, but we enjoyed our stay at Twin Creek.

I know there are others, just not that we've had personal experience with.

If you don't mind being away from the hustle and bustle of the Sevierville/Gatlinburg area, Townsend is just a few minutes west of there. They don't call it the quiet side of the Smokies for nothing.

I camped at the Pigeon Forge KOA, March of last year. It was very crowded when we went, spots are very close together, and they can't really accommodate larger toy haulers. visited Cades cove 2 of the 3 days we were there.

Check campground reviews from the task bar at top. I have stayed at Up The Creek RV Campground and would recommend..
