Tennessee Camping in early June
We are planning a trip to Tennessee the first week of June. We have a 24 ft camper with one slide and would require 30 amp electric (water and sewer would be bonus). Our daughter's family is going also and will be camping in a three room tent. We both have two dogs.
Does anyone know of a campground, within an hour of Nashville, that would have relatively secluded sites (not an RV park)?
I am considering Old Stone Fort Area or Cedars of Lebanon. If you have had any experience with either of these parks, please let me know how you liked them. Also, if you know the bug situation, is this an insect hatch time, and how wet the weather is that time of year, I would appreciate the information.

If you can get Ceder of Lebanon. It is a great park. There are a few others around the area your considering. I'm staying at the I-24 Good Sam park in Smyrna. Have stayed at a couple of parks in Lebanon. Shady acres is one of them that I would recommend. Happy Camping

Possibly Montgomery Bell State Park near Dickson.
I guess I stayed in the wrong part of the park but where we stayed in Cedars of Lebanon was way to crowed. Our slide was almost over the picnic table of the people behind us.
There are many good state parks close by.

How about staying a lake. inexpensive, Huge camp areas, Boat launch and roped swimming area. When I visited Nashville last I stayed at the Corps of Engineer (ACOE) 7 Points @ Percy Lake, Nashville Spaces #40 & 29 are great.

If you want swimming pools and water slides, there is the Nashville Shores Water Parks short distance down the road.

I have looked at that campground. Are the sites as private as they appear on the reservation site?

X2 on Percy Priest Seven Points CG. We were on site #6...one of the more spacious sites but all have plenty of room, some more private than others. All have water and 50Amp hook ups. Dump station is available but we made it the whole week without a visit...we showered in their very clean shower houses and there were clean laundry facilities. The lake sites were not as private, but what views.
Copy & pasted...From downtown Nashville, TN, take I-40 east for 7 miles and to exit 221B. Turn right onto Old Hickory Boulevard, then left on Bell Road, right on New Hope Road and left on Stewarts Ferry Pike. Follow the signs to the campground.

Bledsoe Creek State Park east of Gallatin, TN is nice. Approximately 45 mins. northeast of Nashville.

Thank you for all your input. While we would have liked to stay at seven points, the sites were pretty much gone during our week. So, we decided on Cedars of Lebanon. If anyone has any advise on activities or special places to see in the area, please let us know.
