Terrible experience Cypress Trail RV Resort Ft Myers FL

For some reason, unknown to me at the time, I found vacancy at this resort last minute. The reservation was booked and confirmed and I received a confirmation via email. I asked if early check in was allowed and they asked that I call in the am of arrival to make sure site was available and they would let us check in early. I called, the employee said my reservation was for March, not February. I politely assured her it was February. She confirmed it and then said well it's not until the 12 of February. I indicated it was the 12th today and she said no, today is the 11th. Now she has me reaching for my calendar to see if I'm crazy, then she says, oh yes it is the 12th. We showed up for early check in. When we arrived at the entrance, there is an area that appears to be for people like me pulling in to pull over. (no signs) I pull over, see a small gate office, which I approach and it was vacant. Sign on the office says go to call box. I go to the call box, dial the number I think I should be dialing, no answer, just a recording to leave a message. I leave a message and return to my RV. 5 minutes go by, nobody , so I call their office from my phone. Again I get a recording. My wife goes back to the call box and fortunately gets a lady on the phone. My wife indicates that we are at the front trying to get to our site. The lady rudely tells my wife we have no business being in the resort and that she needs to be at the entrance and call her from the call box. ( that's where we were and it's the same lady that told me I had the wrong month and date) she says to wait there and somebody will be there. 5 minutes later, a very helpful work camper (later to find out the only one for the park) helps me in the park, park my trailer and takes me to my site. As I was hooking up I see the water is off and the work camper gets right on it. He tells me I am the first person on this lot. The water was never turned on so when he found the valve to turn it on I can tell its new because I can smell the new pipe glue. I run the water for several minutes before connecting to my filter system and everything's looking good. The next morning I connected my macerator system to the sewer system. Everything working great until the macerator connection to the pipe pops up in the air about 3'. I shut off the pump and find that the sewer system is blocked.
I go to the office and let them know. They tell me "work camper" will be there to look at it. 5 minutes or less later, he shows up and gets right on it. We find that the area I am in has a crushed pipe. No problem, I ask to move to another site and work camper helps me move. ( No apology or concern from anybody except work camper at this point) I ask him before I move if I can nose in instead of back in (like everybody else across the lake and to the right of me is doing) He says no problem as long as I can make connections to my electrical, water and sewer, and not the neighbors. I was able to do so so I pulled in. We were all set up for a few hours. I'm finally sitting down, relaxing with a drink when somebody pulls up in a 3 row golf cart. ( I already knew the person with that cart was the sale person for the resort lots) I asked how he was doing and he said not good your facing the water. I said yes I am. He said you have to move it, these are back ins. I indicated to him that I asked for permission to do so and was given permission. He asked from who and I told him work camper. He said work camper isn't allowed to make decisions in this park, turn it around. I politely reminded him that this would be my second move. He asked why and I reminded him of the sewer location. He said too bad, move it. I bit my tongue, let him go his way and told my wife we have to move again. Keep in mind there is nowhere in any rules, signs etc that says these are back in lots.
I go to the office and let them know what transpired and the lady I am talking to ( the same one that told me I had the wrong date and was rude to my wife) tells me those are back in lots and that's why the connections are where they are. I told her I was able to connect and she told me "those are back in lots!"
So be it, I told her I would move it after I get back as I had a lunch date with some friends. She actually agreed to that!

Long story short, this is a brand new RV resort that reminds me of a very nice campground. The people that run the resort that I had the "pleasure" of dealing with treat you like trash, and their drive appears to be smoke and mirror to sell their lots. My wife and I travel to RV Resorts all over the country, and I give this a 1, only because of the work camper. If it wasn't for him I would have given it a zero. You don't treat people like this. Good luck for anybody that chooses to rent there, and I feel for anybody that decides to buy a lot there.
Never coming back......

Cypress Trail Resort, FT. Myers, FL , is a name I will never forget and will never visit again! One evening last year, we were traveling from the Keys, heading for Tampa. It was getting late, so I decided that I would pull in, to the nearest park and get some rest, for the night, when I saw the sign for Cypress Creek. So, I pulled up to the gate and saw that the gatehouse was unoccupied. I went to the phone and called. No one answered. Then, I saw that the sales office was open. I walked over and asked about a spot, for the night. The woman told me that there was no one there, that could admit me. She wouldn't even attempt to call anyone for me, or give me a number.

Now, I was pulling a toad and had pulled up to the guard gate. I couldn't back up! As I started to unhook, a maintenance man walked up and ask what I wanted. I asked if he new of any vacancies or could contact some one for me, or let me in. He replied that there was several vacancies, but that he couldn't let me in. I said that many places will let a camper in and the camper would settle up, with the office, in the morning. He said "no, I can't do that". So, defeated, I said well, can you open the gate, so I could turn around? He said "nope"

By that time, it was very dark and I had to find some other camp to settle for the night. I vowed that I would NEVER give them my business and would let everyone know how unfriendly that place was!

Ditto this. I checked this place on RV Park Reviews, there are 2 review and both excellent, giving it a 4.5 out of 5 rating.

The reviewer says that it's an ownership park that also rents sites, so it's not a traditional campground that makes money by catering to transients. This could explain the lack of a customer centric focus. I would mention this in your review.

Given the real-world reviews here on iRV2, my guess is that the 2 "excellent" reviews were posted by CG salespeople or owners.

Both iRV2 reviews related to Personnel, Policies and Procedures...and those factors wouldn't change from day to day or MH to MH.

I don't actually leave this facility until mid week so I'm still experiencing things worth posting. Remember that malfunctioning sewer line? Well they decided to get right on it. This morning at 7:15 they were cutting the road up with a dry saw, then dug a trench with a backhoe. It's all fixed.
Quiet hour rules were ignored! I can't imagine any other RV "Resort" I've ever been at fire up a concrete saw at 7:15 AM.

It's a shame you were right next door to a great park Cypress Woods RV Resort on Luckett Rd. You can get in and look around without having to be escorted by sales people 100% private ownership. Larger sites, friendly people. Next time check out Cypresswoodsrvresort.net and the rental and sales page. Book early because the sites go fast and not a scalping like where you were.

At $110/day we wouldn't even consider staying there!! Their web site also states check-in is only 1-5pm and no after-hours check-in. Kind of a stuffy place!!

I'm just an average kind of guy and anything with the word "Resort" in its name is probably way above my pay grade.

People don't understand that you treat EVERYONE nice. You never know where your next customer or buyer is going to come from.

I see that often, a whole bunch of bad reviews, and one or two good ones. Leaves you wondering if the reviewer got lucky, is oblivious to all the problems, or is it a fake review?. Doesn't have to do with RV'ing either, can be Amazon or anything else.
