Terrible's Lakeside Casino and RV Park

We took our maiden voyage in our new Fleetwood Bounder 33 and visited the above mentioned RV Park. Being that this was our first trip out in the Bounder I can't compare the park to others. Lot's of duck poop though, learned that taking our shoes off before entering the MH is essential.

We had a neighbor that enjoyed his music so much that he shared it with us throughout the evening... Playing his music so LOUD inside his MH that it was clearly audible in our campsite...

We enjoyed ourselves in spite of the unwanted entertainment.

Sorry about your stay at this RV Park. We have stayed there several times and never had anything near what you experienced. We have walked around the lake on almost every visit and it has always have been clean on the walkway. They just had an ownership change and this could have a very limited excuse for the duck stuff. The noise from a fellow camper is not right under any circumstances. They do have security and they should have contacted this camper and asked them to tone it down. I would say try it again and if you run into the same problem, cross them off your list of places to stay.

Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay. Please do give them another chance. We stay there quite often because it makes us feel like we are really getting away from our work week in Las Vegas without having a long drive. That said they have been sold and are now know as Lakeside Rv Resort. Since the new ownership they have worked on refreshing the resort and we have noticed a difference. There will always be ducks because you are on a lake, but they have improved the water features. There is a security person at the club house after hours and I would suggest letting that person know if you have any noise issues because they will take care of that. You may wish to not stay directly on the lake if the birds are an issue for you. I'd be happy to give you some suggestions for larger park like sites off the lake if you send me a message. We love to walk around the lake and rv park with our dog and have never had any issues with needing to remove our shoes before getting in our 5th wheel. I've attached 2 photos of the lake and our favorite site.

Lakeside Casin and RV Park

We will indeed stay at the Lakeside Casino and RV Park again. Duck droppings and noisy neighbors aside, we enjoyed our stay. The staff is very friendly, the park is well maintained (ducks outnumber staff 100:1... ), and with one exception out of hundreds of RVs the people were great.

I did not mean in my OP to denigrate the parks charm. It is a wonderful oasis in a flat desert.

As for our music loving neighbor in the Sea Breeze... from Idaho...that wasn't the parks fault.

Did I fail to mention that I won $250.00 bucks from the casino, while having three beers on the house. We'll be back...

"Over the Hump to Pahrump" has become one of our favorite "get out of Vegas" destinations for extended weekend RV trips. Just finished up our third trip there Wednesday a week ago. Two of the trips have been in conjunction with car shows and potentially looking for property and we stayed only once at Lakeside. With it's friendly staff, layout, numerous spots actually on the lake and the walking path around it makes one of one of the nicest looking parks in which we have stayed. There was even an outdoor concert while we were there in June. That being said, once was enough unless we see some improvements, not only in a large reduction or elimination of the of ducks and related poop all over the site. The lack of site amenities did not help. No cable, our satellite was on the fritz that trip, or Wifi and only a few of the so called "luxury" sites had tables. Our last two trips we have stayed at the Pahrump Station RV Park located at and behind the Best Western Hotel. Lots of trees and grass. It does not have the beauty of Lakeside, it also lacks Wifi unless you go to the hotel lobby. It does have cable in the older two sections and a few sites with tables that can be moved around as needed. The hotel/Park staff is one of the best we have seen. The greater advantage to us was it being centrally located to the town and it's facilities.

Well, I hope that under the new owner the pool decking gets repaired and all the other maintenance items that we noticed when we stayed there in 2011. Just a few weeks ago someone posted about the ants coming up the trees then into the rv through the slides. We had that problem too and the staff could have cared less, telling us that "the state" would not let them use pesticide. IF I ever stayed there again I would make sure no tree branches were touching my rv and would NEVER stay on the lake again, ugh, duck poop.

Carry your own pet friendly concentrate and sprayer.

Duck poo

Thanks for the tip regarding duck poop. One of my golden retrievers believes that duck, goose, and coot poo is ambrosia. We've stayed at Pinto Lake in Watsonville, CA and loved it but won't go back because we spent most of our time outside monitoring the canine vacuume cleaner. If we do go back there I'll get a muzzle. DW says she'll get one for Me if I do.

Regarding the loud neighbors: we were at the Flamingo this past weekend and could hear the neighbors talking on their phone. Plus the drunks coming home at all hours and keeping us awake. Vegas is just a very loud city whether RV park or hotel.
