never stayed at Crystal Beach but again i will endorse Jamaica beach. It has putt putt golf, turtles humping, a huge hot tub, adult only pool, kid pool and play ground and is a easy bike ride to the beach(if you like Galveston beaches that is). IT was maybe 1/2 full when we got there on Thursday and started really filling up on Friday and Saturday, but was still pretty quiet and i stayed in the front row of the park, road noise was no issue

We enjoyed our stay last year at Travelers World Carefree RV Resort which is not far from the downtown and close to several of the missions. We've also stayed at Braunig Lake RV Resort and had a good feeling about the place even though it was only an over night.

BTW...I couldn't find anything like Greenleaf RV park in that area. Perhaps them meant Greentree Village RV Resort?

You are right.... I miss understood the spouse...LOL Try Greenlake RV Park.... it is a new park.... you can Google it. It is located just off I-37 and is just a short drive to most of San Antonio.

BTW.... just north of San Antonio is New Braunfels.... a great little German community.... and the little community of Gruene (pronounced green).... Gruene has a great restaurant in the old mill and a pretty nice craft fair on the weekends... highly recommend a visit.

South Texas is not a good place to be right now with all the flooding.

I'm not sure if you were joking or not, but Big Bend, in all it's glory, is about 10 hours away from the OP's destination.

Just stayed on Mustang Island /Port Aransas - loved the beach - We were at gulf shores - rent a gold cart and drive over the dune bridge and out to the beach. Fantastic. South Padre has a few great parks on the Island but we stay in Port Isabel at park center - its on the fingers so we have fishing right outside the door and the Island a mile or two away.

That's Greenlake RV Park in San Antonio, not Greenleaf

When we were at Greenlake RV Park in San Antonio (about 10 days ago), we paid $34 a night..... which is pretty good for a nice modern facility in a large city. I doubt they have changed their rate.... yet... :-)
