Texas for 2 weeks

Has anyone been to stay near the TX.border for two weeks on the cold months that might suggest a nice RV park to stay at.

You'll probably have to narrow it down a bit - Texas has a lot of border ;-)

Assuming you mean the TX/MX border, can you be more specific? That is a long border.

I can't figure out what area you want to stay. You say "near the TX border".... does that mean you're looking to stay in New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mexico? These are all "near the TX border".

You could help us more if you give a general idea of where you want to stay.

Then I will suggest Lajitas again. Only about 6.5 hours away. Nothing much in El Paso IMO. La Hacienda in Las Cruces is bad, but not a place I would want to spend two weeks.

Have you ever spent any time in the El Paso area? If you are just picking a spot, might want to rethink that area. Almost a native Texan and EP is basically the last place I would want to spend vacation time in.

X2. If you don’t want to drive to Lajitas, what about Elephant Butte, NM just to the North?

It appears you're from Colorado Springs. I don't think you'd enjoy ElPaso and there really are no good RV parks there and the traffic is horrendous.

If you want to be in that area, consider Deming, New Mexico or Las Cruces, NM. None will be what you might hope for as 'warm'. You're still at higher elevation around those areas.

Consider Tucson if you want warmer and it has lots of wonderful things to do.

Deming - you'd be near City of Rocks and Rockhound State Parks for some interesting terrain to explore. I believe each has electric hookups which you'll need because it could be cold/windy in that whole area. You could also tour Silver City area. There are many RV parks in Deming along with restaurants. The museum is awesome - a little bit of everything and well organized. It's not a fancy little town.

Las Cruces, NM is a bigger city than Deming if that's what you like. Likewise, much to do in the area for drives. Again, it could be cold & windy there. Depends when you're planning this trip. mid-Dec/Jan - mid-Feb are the colder times but then, you may luck out.

Elephant Butte was mentioned and that could be another possibility although it's a small town. I think spending two weeks there would be difficult unless you want to fish.

All of the above would have about the same weather.

To find RV parks in these areas that might appeal to you, look up the town or nearby towns on RV Parks Review. Also, there are state parks in all these areas so you may just want to move around to check out the different places if you enjoy state park surroundings (like we do). Good luck with your choice!
