Texas Hill Country snowbird recommendations

Hello. I absolutely cannot survive another Willamette Valley, Oregon winter and spring season. I am hoping to snowbird later this year and into Spring of 2013 someplace in the Texas Hill Country. I know it may be getting too late to try and line something up for this year, but I hope not.

It is anywhere from two to five years before my husband retires so the plan is for me to escape Oregon from approximately November to late spring until he retires and then most likely relocate to Texas. We met and married just outside of San Antonio over 28 years ago so we are somewhat familiar with the area. My younger son and his girlfriend are also interested in coming but they plan on moving there permanently. They are looking at the San Marcos area. I would be interested in the San Marcos, New Braunfels, Bulverde or any other areas close by. Thanks for your help!

You might look into Lake Pointe RV Resort on Canyon Lake. It is a membership park but VERY inexpensive to join and a great location. Closer to SA than Austin and only about 20 miles (a guess) from New Braunfels/San Marcos area. I've visited there several times and highly recommend it.
