I have seen this attitude in other places and it is sad to see this happen. If I move to Texas it is because of what Texas has to offer not to remake Texas in some other way.

I think life is pretty much what ya make it and that's certainly the right attitude to have whenever relocating. In Texas we have saying for those who move in and complain about everything - try I 35 northbound. It takes some doing to be extended that offer. All in all we're a very friendly place and have a lot to offer those in the RV community - Hill country - East Texas forests - lakes - desert - and gulf coast fishing and beachside to name a few things. Come on down for a visit and I'll bet you'll be welcomed and fit right in. Oh - almost forgot - we have BBQ too!

Freezing?? It's 66 and sunny in Houston right now. The high today is forecast to be 69 - in the 70s later this week.

Texas - so misunderstood. Yes it is cold up here in north Texas - 47 right now. But you don't pick North Texas as your snow bird landing. We also don't all own cattle and oil wells. Lol. As I'm sure everyone in Florida doesn't have a gator or python in their backyard or site. We do have gators and snakes in some areas - but not sure about pythons - sure hope not.

Are you going to stop in at MCD in McKinney? We got the duos installed on the house there during the 30% off sale. Need to have cockpit done - trying to figure out where that falls in the priorities. Lol. Really like the shades and the Bonder is stored 9 miles from MCD. Keep us in the loop. Safe travels!

I'm dying to go to Texas..never been except to change planes, and that doesn't count. We had a 6-week trip planned for March & part of April. As it turns out, it isn't going to happen this year, but I'm determined to go as soon as I can. Maybe in the fall. I imagine summer isn't a good time to visit.

As to judging all of FL by how things are in south FL...big mistake. We're in central FL, and it's pretty nice.....NOTHING like Miami, thankfully.

Dance Chick,
COME ON DOWN! Yes you are correct, summer is not the time to come to Texas unless of course you like 95-98 degree heat with 90-95% humidity. Then it's okay.

Let's see, 6 weeks should get you through a couple hundred miles. I remember one time a long time ago we went with DW's parents in their Class C. We left Texas City, went to hill country and around a little bit, down to corpus, then back to Texas City and put 1200+ miles on the MH and never left the south Central Gulf Coast.

Don't know where you are coming from but do try and make Palo Duro Canyon and the nightly entertainment they put on there. All an outdoor stage with live animals (horses, etc.,) Great entertainment.

Let us know when, and we are always happy to "tell people where to go."

You give a holler when you get to Houston, ya here! Where you going to stay? What part of town is the reunion?

I just checked the thermometer and right now at 10:20 p.m. it is 55 degrees outside. Glad I'm not out there freezing. Tomorrow is a high of only 69 degrees and by Thursday up to 75 degrees. Now that's more like it. I hate the cold. Anything below 70 degrees is freezing.

Well, 95-98 degrees with 90-95% humidity will seem like home...I'm in Lakeland, FL. I don't know, we might be just a tad hotter or more humid. I'll get some travel tips from you when we're headed your way.
