We stayed at the Southern Oaks RV Resort when we were in FL. last year.
It has good size lots and reasonable.
We have friends, Parr The Course, that stay there every year and run the everyday activities for the camp ground.
The Villages are a short drive south on the highway # 441-27.

We second on Southern Oaks, we live 10 miles from the CG and use it to take a break from the house but don't want to go far in the cold weather. Handy to everything plus the Villages which are south of the CG about 5 miles. The Villages area has lots to do and all the shopping you could want.

Hi faye,
I can let you know where not to stay. Do not stay at the KOA in Wildwood. It is a real dump.

We second above posts, it's our third year here and is within 20 minutes of most locations in The Villages.

Come on down to the Recreation Plantation on 466. I can see the Villages from here. Great campground and super clean. You will not be disappointed. If you get here you can stop and see me at site #50. i'll save a spot for you in the hot tub.

We stayed at Southern Oaks for a month last year, nice campground but it was very cold and we had to pay for electric, bill was a little over $100!! Plus The Villages is a very populated area and it was very crowded,we had to go to Wal-Mart and the grocery stores after 8:30 at night when the snow birds were in for the night or couldn't even get in the parking lots. If you are going to The Villages though its the best campground,we have stayed at 2 others and wouldn't really recommend the other two.

Faye I'm pretty sure most of the snowbirds leave the end of March/first of April but The Villages will still be going wide open. At least it will be warmer!
