Smile Thousand Trails membership

I was looking into purchasing a Thousand Trails membership. I was wondering if anyone has purchased this and if so do you like it and find it worth the expence? Thank you.

Do NOT buy a full membership... Buy a zone membership for the area you will use and pay less than we pay for our annual dues.

When you buy an Elite membership like I did you think your getting all those campgrounds on their list.. NOT SO!!! If it says ELS next to the name Thats NOT a TT campground... You can stay there but at a hefty price. Now their campgrounds are open to the public.. you might not get in at a campground because some local that paid $35 is taking your spot, while you've paid thousands for your membership.

Thousand trails is NOT like it used to be...

I am sitting in a TT park as I type this.. We full time.. With our "Standard" Nationwide membership I can spend 2 weeks in a TT park for about 45 bucks a month. that is 30 amps, water and sewer, 20 days a month for 45 bucks.

The tent sites (20 amps, no sewer) at a KOA are that much.. A NIGHT..

Is it worth it... You do the math.

With the "Upgrade" membership (Elite, platnum, whatever they call it) you get 3 weeks out of 4, about 25 days a month for the same price. tell 'em 290500308 sent you please

I like our TT membership as well.

The only thing I suggest is to research fully, then purchase a used membership privately. Do not buy directly from TT (unless you are buying one of those zone memberships). Price on the dollar is very reduced for used memberships.

We purchased a used TT Platinum Plus membership last year for pennies on the dollar from what it sold for new. We are very happy with them membership as it allows us 3 weeks at a park then we have to be out a week but we can go to any other TT park immediately. Our membership also allows our grown children to use the parks too. The only down side was we purchased what we thought was a lifetime membership but when TT transferred it they refused to honor the lifetime part and it is now only a 10 year membership.

Agree with bdpreece. We also have a Platinum membership & love it. Dues are low & parks are mostly convenient. If your plans work with the locations a re-sale membership is worth looking into. Just make sure the contract is one that will get you what you want....they are NOT all the same.

Check Craig's List. Look at all the larger areas, you do not need to live in the area where you purchase. Seattle & Portland seem to be good areas to watch but do not limit yourself you never know where one will turn up.

Buy a used Alliance, 150 days ahead for res and 3 res in hi use parks at a time. Ours has more than paid for itself.
