Three month trip around the corner

I am sure this is the wrong forum for these questions but we have had such success here I will try. We leave from Northern California in a few days for a three month trip to the east coast and back. I am asking advice for rv parks close to New York City. I have Niagara Falls (Canadian side) and Washington DC figured our but not NY. As a side note we will go north to Montana and travel to Wisconsin on hwy 2 and then loop around to Niagara Falls. So any help on this will be greatly appreciated. Experience is key!!

When visiting New York City, there is only ONE RV Park in that vicinity. It's called Liberty Harbor RV Park and Marina. It's in Jersey City. It's not a resort by any means, but on the several occasions we visited NYC we found it more than adequate and very close to the city. It's within walking distance of the PATH and close to the Lincoln? tunnel.

Also the ferry that comes right to the marina there gets you to downtown Manhattan in 5 minutes.

There are a bunch of live and recent threads about this exact subject. Try a search and you will get a bunch of great information very quickly.

In addition to Liberty RV, there is also a KOA in Newburg, NY and some state and county parks in NJ if you have a toad. If you don't get to NYC until October, some of the campgrounds may be closed for the winter.

I do not recommend the KOA in Newburg. That place was a dump the last time we were there and it's a LONG drive to the city. Better to stay in Liberty Harbor.

Thank you guys so much, I had seen the Liberty one and of course didn't know, so thanks. In GS I also found one about an hour away in Florida NY, called Black Bear, has tours to the City?? Anyone had experience with it?

We stayed at Black Bear in Florida, NY last summer. The bus trip into NYC was very good. It is a long day with not a lot of time in any one place but it was a good highlite tour. We drove over to Newburgh to visit Orange County Choppers and see all of the custom bikes. We also drove to West Point for a tour.

If you are just touring NYC, Liberty Harbor is your best bet. It is a parking lot with W/E, but it is convenient.
We have been overnighted at KOA Newburgh twice and found it OK. They also offer tours to the city.
