If the person taking me to the site is a real help & sticks around to make sure hooking up goes well, I will tip them.

No tip but if they are a host we invite them by for a glass of wine or a cold brew and burger if we see them out and about.

Tipping is to show appreciation for good service--going above and beyond. A campground host is receiving compensation. It is a personal question in my opinion--I tip based on service I receive, not what other people say they do or don't do. If it isn't in your heart and conscious to tip in the first place is it really a tip if based on what others do?

Funny you said that. A couple of years ago we were on a trip and got stopped at a road work area. It was hot as hell out there. While waiting for the traffic to start going again, I ran to the frig and grabbed a cold bottle of water. When we got to the girl with the stop/ slow sign, I handed it to her. I thought she was going to climb in and kiss me. A little thoughtfulness goes a long way.

I have always found that random acts of kindness are way better than gratitude shown when it is expected.

At CGs without sewer but do have a honey wagon, I tip that guy. Not a job I would want.

We have only been on a couple of CGs that escort you to your site and never thought about a tip. A beverage for them is a nice thought though.
