Topsail

BJ and I are scheduled to be at Topsail (site 110) for 5 nights starting Saturday the 5th. If anyone is going to be there let's get together and offer a sacrifice to the gods. (That's what my ex-wife called all those burnt offerings that were supposed to be supper.)

Jim & BJ:

Hi from Casa Grande, AZ. Say....we're going to be heading to Tampa area for family event and will be heading East through panhandle and near the Topsail Resort sometime around Feb. 14th, 15th, or 16th...ish. Anyway, we've wanted to check out Topsail for sometime and this might be our chance.

Once you're there, and settled, could ya post a little description about it? (ie., rig size it can handle, maybe an idea of nightly rates, how you guys like it, etc.).

Thanks.

Steve & Lynette

It's one of the finest state parks you'll find anywhere. It can handle any size rig (not on all sites, but lots of them). Mostly back-in, it does have some pull-throughs. You can book it through Reserve America at: https://www.reserveamerica.com/membe...do?mode=submit or by calling the campground direct at (850) 267-8330. See their website at Welcome to Florida State Parks . The beach is .7 miles from the campground. It is within the park. I believe that they do have a shuttle during part of the year, but don't bet your lunch money on that. Suggest that you have reservations but this time of year you probably won't have any problem with drive up. I prefer the 100 loop. You can see the campground layout on the Reserve America site. Some people don't like Reserve America but I use them all the time and have never had a problem. Spend lots of money while you're here in Florida. My retirement check depends upon it.

Jim & BJ:

Thanks, sounds pretty nice. Guess you'll be long gone before we might get there. Kinda think we might stop for awhile this time through. Thanks again.

As soon as you can you need to get a reservation. Even in Jan & Feb they are pretty full. March-May will be a problem because of spring break. We live 8 miles from there. It is a beautiful campground and a short walking distance to the Gulf.

We stayed there last winter. All sizes of rigs can be found there. If the shuttle to the beach is not running, it is only a short bicycle ride. Be sure to take the Rangers guided tour.
You can spend as much money as you have in that area. I doubt there is a food group you can't find.
The traffic will multiply considerably overnight once the spring breakers hit the area.
Try to get to the Naval museum in Pensacola and the "Seaside" village area.
Have breakfast at the Donut-Hole. Order half as much as you think you can eat.
Topsail is probably the best state park you could ever stay at.
I beleave you are limited to a two week stay however your wife could stay two weeks as well,(shhh.....)
