Hello
I got some really good replies on here about Topsail hill. Now I'm wondering about "Camping on the Gulf" campground which is nearby. Topsail seems nicer (like a garden), but the other one is on the beach, has two pools and a hot tub. I did do a search and one person referred to Camping on the Gulf as "a dump"!!?? Woodall's gives it 4Ws so it can't be that bad?
Any opinions is very much appreciated.
Also when to go?? mid September.. guaranteed hot but more chance of hurricane, OR early October and maybe a bit cool for beach/pool weather???

Thanks for any advice.
Pete.

Topail Hill is a paradise, Camping on the Gulf is extremely tight sandy and ugly and very $$$$.
There is no comparison

There doesn't seem to be any "Camping on the Gulf" fans out there. Looks like I have my answer.
Thanks again.
Pete.

I agree, Top Sail. Camping on the Gulf is a lot like sardines on the gulf, so close to your neighbor that your awning can't go out.

CaptainBud,
You stole my thunder. I was also going to say "Topsail hands down". No question about it.
If you want to got to Topsail, be advised you need to make reservations very early. We made ours for July 5th through 12th a couple of months ago.
Here is a link. Can check site availability:
