Topsail State Park FL

Heading to Topsail for a couple of weeks in Nov.. Big ?? are any of the sites more suitable for satellite reception? All of them say partial shade, I have mh with sat towards front of roof. Maybe someone has personal experience. Thanks

A suggestion.......get a site map of the park then find the site on Google Earth. You can probably make as good of a guess as you're going to get.

Here's a review I did of Topsail: Topsail and Grayton Beach State Parks - in Florida Panhandle - Fiberglass RV
If you want shade, go to the back loop, the front loop is VERY open and you shouldn't have any problems getting good satellite reception there.
Once fall hits the north Florida parks pretty well empty up - it's our favorite time of year to go camping here.

Topsail hill

Topsail Hill Preserve in Santa Rosa Beach was voted one of the top 5 state parks in the nation and it is beautiful. Gulf of Mexico beaches are right there in the park. You can bicycle down to the beach, walk it (short walk) or take a tram if you're loaded up with beach stuff. No parking lot for cars at the beach. The facilities are great. The campground looks like it was once a high end RV Park because the sites have cement pads and are beautifully landscaped. Enjoy the area and eat lots of oysters!

Regular at Topsail here. I am here now for a couple of weeks. For satellite it is very spotty. Sites 107 to about 123 have a fair shot at the south west sky. If you get on the North rows of the back section you may have a 50-50 chance of shooting up the street to the south west but you would have to put your dish next to the street. Sites 26 to 55 would give you a fair shot. The cable television provided at each site is great. I am currently watching channel 7-1 WJHG Panama City in high def., my Tailgater is still in the basement, no need with TV like this.
We have had loads of RAIN since Saturday but suppose to clear off today or Thursday. A bear was sighted yesterday afternoon on the path behind the back row, back section. Someone had a crock pot outside with a pot roast slow cooking. Guess the bear just had to check it out. The ranger got him to leave after taking his picture. Don't leave anything outside in a cooler or your garbage, the racoons are very crafty at opening coolers.
Safe travel. Enjoy Topsail.

Sites 103-107 (I was in 103 and successful) were the ones that looked to me to have the best chance for reception. Certainly have to be on the Northern and Western side of the outer ring. I didm't see any pull throughs that would have reception from the top of a MC.

Thanks , narrows it down even closer. It's not like I will die without sat tv it is just I hardly watch anything in real time. Much prefer to watch it from dvr and skip commercials .
