Touring Yellowstone and Heading South

We are planning a trip to Yellowstone around mid September then heading south. Our plan would have us staying at Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park at the West entrance while seeing the sights. When leaving, we would drive thru the park and leave via the East entrance going on to Cody. From Cody we plan to travel on to Casper via hwy's 120 and 20. We will be traveling in a 33 ft Class A. I have a couple of questions:
  • Is mid Sep too late to visit Yellowstone?
  • Are hwy's 120 and 20 good routes?
  • Any chance I'm going to get hit by a snow storm?

I'll see you there
No it's not too late. It can snow at any time in Yellowstone.
The advantage of mid to late Sept is the crowds have gone.
We were there 2 years ago till 5th oct. No snow and great weather.
That year they closed all the campgrounds within the park on 3rd oct.
You'll love Cody and maybe Buffalo Bill museum

For the past few years we have been coming into Yellowstone by your route. It is a great drive through the Wind River Area. We will leave Grizzly on 9/14 heading West.

Last September we were there and as said, crowds are down. Yes, snow can happen, but I've been there in July when we got 4 inches on the roads! We had snow a couple of days last fall, but it melted fast and sometimes the only snow left was on deadfall tree trunks. They temporarily closed Craig Pass for plowing, (between Grant Village and Old Faithful) but we went from Madison, to Canyon, to Grant's Village and South Entrance and had no snow on the road at all. Daytime temps not too cold, just clear and beautiful.

Campgrounds in West Yellowstone required us to unhook water hose during the night, not a big issue.

Great, our plans can go ahead. I'll add the Buffalo Bill museum in Cody to our itinerary.
