Oak mountain state park, Cahaba Valley Rd exit, 240 something. I think next bet would be Clanton about 35 miles south, yellow hammer RV park. Right off interstate, exit 208

If traveling I-65, give yourself a lot of time. Traffic is terrible this time of year, and I-65 in Birmingham will loosen some screws.

If you're needing an RV park convenient to the hospitals, UAB, St. Vincents, etc., then check out Hoover Met. It's a large, fully paved, 50A full hook-up park at the Hoover Met Stadium off I-459 Exit 10.

Sorry I can't give any help for a RV park, but hold on to your teeth worst roads I've traveled are around Birmingham.

You didn't mention the route you are traveling but when traveling I-20, we stay at Sunset RV Park near Tuscaloosa for an overnight stop. Easy to get to and long pull thrus so can stay connected to toad. https://sunsetrvparks.com/

If coming from the east or traveling to the east I20 is closed for construction and the detour is mind bending.
I65 through Birmingham is ok (traffic is better between 10-3) but can get rough in many spots.

👍 on Birmingham South Campground.
Traveled through Birmingham last month. Traffic was a mess. I20 ramps to I65 (and back) we’re closed for construction. Detour is required to get from one interstate to the other. Not well marked IMO.
Stay clear during rush hour.
