Trip to No. California/Oregon

Hello everyone, I'm trying to plan a 14 to 17 day trip from So CA north up the I5 into Oregon(how far tbd), out to the Oregon coast and back down home. I'd like to go north pretty quickly and spend most of the time exploring the coast home. Please suggest your favorite places to go and things to do and see. I'm for sure stoping in Oakdale, CA(relatives), Shasta Lake, Klamath Falls, Harry & David tour, Redwoods, Big Sur. Looking forward to your feedback, thanks

Eureka, Ferndale,CA. Take 280, 101 0r route your way over the Richman Bridge, DO NOT go through Stinson Beach near S.F on Hiway 1.

Crater Lake and Mt. St. Helens should be on your list.

To be honest, if you do the Oregon coastline on the 101, Big Sur may be a bit redundant. It's beautiful but you will have see a lot of similar coastline... and PCH is a touch drive in a motorhome. By that point you may just want to jump back to the 5 and head home...

I would highly recommend the jet boat trips on the Rogue River out of Gold Beach, Oregon. Have been on them twice and would do them again in a heartbeat!

Enjoy!

Moss Landing CA, right in the middle of the curve of Monterey Bay. Stay at the KOA, talk to the managers John & Jaye and tell them Bruce & Mary Lou sent you. There is a whale watch boat captain lives on property and runs great trips out to the bay. This time of year they are seeing blue whales! Eat at Phil's restaurant, best seafood I have ever eaten. The seafood pasta dishes can be easily shared between 2 people.

x2 on avoiding the PCH south of Carmel. Not a good road for a MH or trailer. You'll have seen plenty of spectacular coastline by then. We drove the coast from Monterey to Oregon last month and had no problems.

Anyone been to Lassen volcanic park or national forest? Is it worth the detour on my way up?
