Bastrop Tx has several parks as well as 2 State parks. Lake Bastrop has a park. Bastrop is easier to get to the race track then I 35. Google camping Bastrop Tx

I was a USAC official at the Indy 500 for 6 years. Getting in was easy - I had a pass for the restricted VIP route and there's no traffic at 3AM even on race day. Getting out though - there's no pass for that - you're with the herd. Eventually I learned to sit on the tailgate and watch the seething mass of humanity for a couple hours. When the joint's empty and the cops come around, it's time to leave. You'll get home about the same time as everyone else!
