Not that I can remember anyway. Are KOAs independently own or are they a chain?

KOA's are individually owned 'franchises'. If you have complaints about one/any, step up and let the management know. If that does not solve your problem, then email the corporate offices about the problems. They will investigate, and try to correct it for future visitors.

And...possibly even remove an owner that does not present an exception camping experience for the campers that is condusive with the corporate moto:

"There's camping, And there's KOA".

Been waiting for that comment LOL. What we need are more places like the Crossroads in NC:

RV Park Reviews :: Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina ( NC ) - RV Parks and Campground Reviews

Reduced rates for late arrivals and FHU pull through sites with cable, wi-fi and contential breakfast.

Bob

Read the reviews sounds like my kind of place. The first campground I've read about with a free continental breakfast. GS and PPA.

Very interesting. I have a friend that lives in Tomball, keeps a 38ft 5'er in his driveway and at least one of the RV parks caters to winter Texans.

And one of the Tomball city parks (Spring Creek Park) has RV sites available. Go figger, I guess.

We love the KOA in Van Horn; stayed there four times now. For $25 or whatever for water, sewer, hydro, security (in numbers), lots of room for dogs to run, great food on site, cool Owners / Managers, and, as seen in photo, great sense of humour, what d'y'all want? Let the Guy make a living and just drive on by to your "free spot" if you don't want him to have an income; why villify them so?

And bill you they will, they can also issue a suspension on your license, at least in the state in which you got ticketed, and otherwise harass you..

You should fight the ticket.. As I said. I'm kind of hoping one fairly well known wall mart camper (The only mention of wall mart here is because he likes to stop there) gets ticketed under one or more of these laws..

Should be interesting when he fights the ticket. I mean, who in this country has more power then the president? Supreme court justice that's who.

Nevada State laws

We have just learned that if you are a snow bird and coming to Nevada and expecting to stay for the whole summer, you will be required to register your vehicle and change your address to Nevada. The state law is if you drive on Nevada roads more than 30 days in a calendar year you will be required to register your vehicle(s) in Nevada. If you don't you can be find upto $1200 per vehicle.
We are working on this now. The constables office in Boulder City have already targetted the RV parks, right now there has been over 100 given warnings about it.

Independently owned and operated.
We stayed in one in West Yellowstone along with 5 other rigs. They charged one of our members extra for each child, told him it was due to the "extra amenities" they used. So when the kids went to the swimming pool they were told "no children allowed". Then they went to the game room. They were run out of there too for the same "reason". Our friends paid $63 for one night and this was in '98.
There were so many mosquitoes that even a fire couldn't keep them away. When we complained about the cost they said their season is short so they have to make as much as they can quickly. We've never been back so I don't know if they're still in business or not and I really don't care!
