True but the OP did not want to take their car. Me, i would have just drove if i had a car. When we were there, we did not have a toad so rental car and parking fees for 2 days verse the CAB was a close wash. They definitely do not have the bus service anymore, too bad. I would try UBER tho it is always cheaper than a cab and my experience has been good with uber drivers.

I guess I need to bring the car. For about $50 saving each day (2 days) we would go to Universal it would be worth it.

Parking at Universal is fairly convenient/easy with their parking garages and powered "walking paths" (think flat escalators). It makes getting to and from your vehicle fairly painless. Also, unless you park on top, your vehicle isn't baking in the sun.

Try Tropical Palms or Sherwood Forest. Both are a short drive to Disney reasonable and good. We have stayed at both while visiting the parks.

Tropical Palms offered (end 2014) shuttle service to and from Disney. Nice park too, with a Souvenir shop; but not cheap.

Can't talk about camping nearby, but did go to the park last summer. We had a three day pass and that was more than enough. Even the kids were beat after day two. Best advice is to get in right at 8 AM, the place will be nearly empty for two hours, maybe longer, so take advantage and hit all the big rides then with zero wait time. My kids rode a few of them back to back.

spent July 18 to 26 and it cost me about 800 for the site full hookup. The drive down from NJ was long and I got hit with a rather large amount on tolls..... the fuel cost was about 1000 both ways. The tickets were 420 for just 3 days but included water parks of which I left one water park unused. All in all about 3 grand just for my wife and Grandchild and myself. that didn't include the crappy golf cart from a local rental company there that was dropped off with a bad battery from Kenny tee time golf cart rentals. this guy Kenny swore he. was refunding the money since we could not use the cart and he has yet all this time and after many many calls. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS GUY! ,HE IS A LIAR!

I am filing a complaint with the BBB. I am also alerting Disney of his scrupulous business practices.
