Upcoming Glacier NP/Montana trip

Headed out out to Montana with stops in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, Glacier NP, Whitefish, Flathead Lake/Bigfork, then return to Western Washington. Having a hell of a time finding where we want to stay around Whitefish and Flathead Lake. We like the State Parks usually, but are finding out that most of the sites in Montana State Parks are primitive/no hook ups. And at best, water and electric. Is the lack of full hook ups due to the extreme cold winters, etc.? That's my best guess. Also, are there any must see's in Glacier or any of the other areas where we are going. I know I can look it up and will, but was curious if anyone has recommendations.

We went to Glacier back in 2009 but we didn't tow a car so we couldn't make this drive.

Also, if you had time I believe there is a ferry service that will take you into Canada, there is an historic hotel on the CA side that we stopped at on our way to Alaska

If you like state parks but want full hookups, perhaps this place would interest you in West Glacier:

We stayed in site 28 at Spruce Park (Spruce Park ON THE RIVER - Glacier National Park) near Kalispell and used it as a base to tour the entire area. The park it wooded, right on the river and sites not crowded together. The park has the feel of being way out but it's near stores, restaurants, etc. Lot's of folks from Canada and Texas.
