Urbanna Oyster Festival.
Anyone headed to the Urbanna Oyster Festival in VA in a few weeks. We are staying at Beth Page for a few days with some friends. The last time we went was 20 years ago and it was great. Would love to hear about it if anyone has been.

Bethpage
The 2011 iRV2.com National Rally was just held there the end of last month. Very nice place & it's huge. I'm sure you'll find linked pictures of it in the National Rally Forum.
I hear tell they really pack the RV's in the park for that festival so be prepared to be in close quarters. Some sites can be soggy if it rains much (like it did at the National).
Enjoy the festival.

We are going, but have never been before. I spoke with one of the ladies at the office there at Bethpage and it sounds as though they double-up on the RV sites. They take pull throughs and divide them into two spots, and electric pedestals are shared.

That's correct. The banner picture at the top of the page was taken at this year's iRV2.com National Rally at Bethpage. During the Festival, figure on another RV parked about where the truck is to the left of the Hitchhiker 5-r & another RV between that 5-r & the coach to the right & on & on with the same down the row. And where we had no RV parked directly behind on our sites (they were behind every other site, diagonally), there will be 2 RV's per site/back-to-back. It'll be cozy, that's for sure.

Omg! 680 campers doubled up! It was a great festival and the new friends are many! What a great job Bethpage did getting everyone in. We are in again next year. We stayed until Monday and the place was a ghost town when we left.
Thank you Bethpage and kudos to you for the great job.

I hit the Urbanna Oyster Festival last year while in the Williamsburg area and was not impressed and rather disappointed. I was really looking forward to a festival of the type one finds along the Gulf coast, but this was not it. There is only one RV park in Urbanna which is large and was packed. We stayed at the KOA in Williamsburg.
From what I could tell, there is little if any oystering going on in Urbanna and most of the oysters are brought in from other places. Colonial Williamsburg was much more interesting.

We went and won't be back. Not our style of camping at all. I'm glad you had a good time though.
