Coming northward from Gr. Canyon, I'm trying to find a campground along #89 on the east side of Zion. I'm not interested in taking the MH through the tunnel.

Alternatively, a lot of folks like to stay on the west side, but then what is the best route to take northward to go to Bryce? Seems like a lot of extra distance to me, unless there is some good scenery along the way.

When we went to Zion and Bryce last year, we went up 89. We didn't want to hassle taking the rig through the tunnel in Zion either, although now that we have been there, it's not that big a deal.

We stayed in Glendale. It was an easy drive to either Zion or Bryce from there. We also stopped at Cedar Breaks and drove a little way into Escalante - all from Glendale.

Regardless of where you end up staying, take the time to drive through the tunnel in your toad and see the eastern half of Zion. It isn't nearly as crowded as the canyon, and, IMO, the eastern side is prettier.

Slabman, We love RV Corral at Kanab, Utah. It is one of the cleanest and most comfortable campground we have ever stayed at in 35 years of camping. Have fun on your journey, it is very beautiful in that area. Indiana Journey

My thanks to everyone who responded; great info. We will be visiting the area in September, and you guys just answered many of my questions. RVers are like hikers - awesome folk!
