This is a popular (sometimes too popular) BLM area with sand dunes.

In Arizona, by using www.rvparkreviews.com, campgrounds in Salome, Gold Canyon, Florence and probably many others feature ride your ATV from the property. We don't ATV but noted these campgrounds for places to go before and after Spring Training baseball in Phoenix.

Have fun. Drive safely!

A lot of the trails in the Paiute system are National Forest Service. They will have a 50 inch max width. I don't know how much the rangers will patrol but there will be some gates that will exclude anything wider. Most side by sides will not go through the gates.

There are a bunch of videos on youtube.

Thanks for the input! Any good areas in northern Arizona?

Arizona has some screwy laws for atvs. Some roads require that you be street legal with a license plate. I never could get an answer from anyone official on how they treated non residents. Maybe an AZ person can shed some light.

Moab is your classic red rock terrain. Many, many trails to ride on. I can't compare it to the Richland, Fillmore area because I've never been there, but I've been going to Moab for 12 years. I take a Jeep to Moab, but I see ATV's on the streets there all the time. However, I'm not sure what the rules are concerning them. I believe Moab has two SxS exclusive events with guides and vendor shows. I think they're in may and September.

Thanks Dan! Do you mean by SxS exclusive events that if I showed up with a SxS and ATV's I wouldn't be able to ride the area during those events?

I haven't researched it very much, but if it's run like Easter Jeep Safari the trails the event organizers are using will probably be closed the day they use them and open to the public on the days they don't. I think they use 5 or 6 trails for their event, but there are probably 40 or so that can be used by SxS's.

Have you considered Silverton, Colorado? The trails are awesome! Fall is through September and sometimes in October. It's high elevation.

Last summer we went to Yellowstone, Moab, and Glendale UT last year. We rented a UTV and a Jeep in Moab (just ordered our toyhauler to take our own toys along this year). Many ATV's and UTV's on the streets, and lots of trails. Many rental facilities in town that would probably rent you a trailer if you wanted to go out a little further. I don't think I would want to take an ATV on some of the trails, but a side by side was great. We stayed at Canyonlands campground. Nice place! Glendale: We went to Zion, Bryce canyon and the North rim of the Grand Canyon, so ATVing was not our main purpose. Any favorites in MN?
