Smile Vermont/Northeast Fall Foliage planning help

Could use some suggestions for planning a trip to the northeast to Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, etc. to see the beautiful fall foliage. Would appreciate any ideas of where and when to go, as well as camping suggestions for a class A with a toad.
Many thanks.

Did Vermont, all of New England actually, in first week of Oct. 2010 , we were about a week early for that years change, would have been right on time for the 2009 , many RV parks were shutting down for the winter and we couldn't hang around ( did want to really ) because of a hurricane landfall warning.

It takes some cool nights ( frost) to get the change started , I'd say to really get the full view , be ready to hang around for 7>10 days, and keep your fingers crossed for the right weather.
Any RV park your thinking of check their dates of operation.

Hmmm, thought I replied but I do not see it. Here goes again.

Weather turned over this weekend so leaves should be starting to turn soon and will be gone in a few weeks. As was said, most parks close down after Columbus day weekend.

We were up there last week at Pine Valley in Pownal. Road in has a 24,000 lb limit. Otherwise nice park. Near Bennington and the Berkshires.

Having lived here my whole life, some things haven't changed in the last half-century or so, and one of them is the changing of the foliage colors. You have until Columbus Day weekend, a week earlier for Maine and northern Vt/NH; after that the reds are on the ground and all that's left are the yellows of the late-changing Norway maples and browns of the oaks.
