Not too sure there is a campground with a good view, but Battle Creek campground in Keystone states you can see George from there.

I'm in Custer right now, and during my recent visit to Mt. Rushmore, and all the scenic roads nearby, I saw motorcycles everywhere. Your HD will have lots of company.

If you take the drive down the Iron Mountain Road, from Keystone to Custer State Park you'll pass through three tunnels. They are perfectkly aligned so that you can see Mount Rushmore through them. However, they tunnels are short so don't take the RV through them. We either enter Custer State Park via Hermosa on the east or from the west (Custer, SD).

You'll love riding the HD out there. Needles Highway is great as is Spearfish Canyon. Day trips to Devil's Tower and teh Bad Lands are worth the ride.
