we are planning to go to las Vegas in April 2012, we flew out in 2010 and since we bought our mh. we are going back with our cousin and his wife,he had a nasty stroke two years ago and is doing much better but will never work again. at our family reunion he found out we had just got back and was telling us that that is the one place he has always wanted to see. so the better half and me decided to go back and convinced them to come along it costs the same for two or four in fuel so all they need is eats and a little spending money.we decided to rent a car when we get there so we won't have to tow ours making it easier for mine and his wife's to help drive.
here is where we need the help ours is a 1985 class c it is a good looking coach and well kept but it is older and most of the parks i find on the net don't say if they have age restrictions or not and i don't want any surprises when i get there, the second thing is i need one that is clean, safe and with good shower facility's i don't know if mine will work for him since it is smallish and he gets around ok but i don't want him to get hurt. any help would be appreciated we were going to just drive out and stay in a hotel but we really like our mh thanks in advance

frank, cricket and harley our furry child

As long as your motor home is well maintained and clean you should have no problem. Some camp grounds reserve to right to refuse service to keep the junkers out, that's all.

Why not find a park or casino that has camping for you and a nearby hotel for your guests? The hotel will be able to accomodate handicapped guests, you will have a car to shuttle everyone around and you all get some time for privacy.
Sams Town on Boulder Highway may interest you.

originally i was going to fly us out like last time but they are on a limited budget, she works full time and he draws disability and does odd jobs when he can,but with his meds things are usually tight, besides they are old fashioned and would not go if they thought i was spending extra just because of them so it is drive out in a car and stay at the desert rose like last time but the wife worry's it is too fancy and they wouldn't feel comfortable or take the mh and find some place that will meet the needs of
our kin. they are really great folks and never traveled much so i want to make sure they are comfortable. they are worth the trouble which is more then i can say about most of the family so it narrows down my choices.
but i still prefer the mh if i can do it that way.

The trip you are planning sounds so cool and you are being very thoughtful of your kin/guests. You say they haven't traveled much so I'll bet this will be a trip of their lifetime. I grew up camping, rving, boating and it has always been on the bucket list to go out and see this great Country in a MoHo. It always surprises me how many folks have never had the experience. Hope you and yours have a safe and wonderful trip. The road trip to your destination will be the best part. Let us know how it goes.
