Virginia Beach in March

Hello everyone,

I need to get away with the family for March break and I was thinking a trip to Virginia Beach would be a good choice. I wonder if anyone has any recommendations for a good campground to stay at for 4 nights. We have a 30' TT and I will be traveling with a 6 year old and 3 year old.

Also, what sort of weather does VB see in the middle of March?

Mike, most people stay at the Holiday Travel park on General Booth Blvd. It is open all year and has full hookups - more of a resort style, not really our "cup of tea", but will keep kids satisfied. Bring bikes. Within biking distance of the boardwalk. There is also a KOA, but holiday is better. If you want more rustic, First Landing state park should now be open. Water and electric with a dump station. this is more on the beach - Chesapeake Bay, not ocean.
Weather- yesterday 81 degrees, tomorrow predicted to be in the 50,s. Its all over the place. Low generally 40-50's. Hard freeze should be over.

Thanks for the information. I think I am going to try to get reservations at the Holiday Travel Park. Reviews seem good except for the low flying jets but my son (3 years old) might really enjoy them!

Now...How to get there.

Those low flying jets are F/A 18 Hornets from Naval Air Station Oceana. While it does take a little getting used to, just keep in mind that is the sound of freedom. Enjoy Va Bch and safe travels!

An added perk for Holiday Park is they have a parking lot 1 block from the beach/boardwalk which is included in the price. Their Super Sites are great and yes, the air show is impressive but also get you going in the morning!

We're heading to First Landing early April.
The reviews sound great and the Googled images look amazing.
The sites also do not seem jammed together. I like my space, and some privacy.
