Visiting Philadelphia while on trip

I found this site near downtown Phili.

Looks like reasonable option for a couple of nights and one day sight seeing. On bus route so no need for car rental (we do not have a toad).
Hook-ups too

Any comments or alternate suggestions.

Google Earth shows some RVs parked there.

Would be interested in feedback. We normally stay at the KOA in West chester but it is expensive and far from philly. This place is only a minute or so from family homes there.

I lived in Philly for 39 years. That looks like a great find to me. Right in the city and easy access to Philadelphia's extensive mass transit system. It does appear to be in an industrial area, and right next to a heavily trafficked freeway so there will be noise, but for convenient location, it can't be beat.

This place has my vote. Next time I'm in Philly, this is where I stay.

Not the best area to walk around in, but it does look convenient; a reasonable cab ride to center city if you don't want to take public transportation. Never knew it was there. I'll have to take a look at it the next time I am down in the city.

where the nearest cheesesteak joint? I wonder how many other big citys have hidden spots like this. sounds like it would have its share of drawbacks, but it also looks like it has many advantages to it...let us know how you made out staying there...

The 2 most famous, Pat's & Geno's are not too far. Head east on Tasker and then turn left (north) on E. Passyunk. Just a few blocks up, you can't miss them. The best IMHO is Tony Luke's, but that's a little farther at the east end of Oregon Ave in South Philly.

I was disappointed with Tony Lukes in allentown. My favorite used to be Pudge's in Blue Bell, but I heard that they are under new ownership, so I'm not sure if they are still as good as they used to be.

Stayed there 3 nights last week. We arrived on Sunday afternoon and left on Wednesday noon. It is truly a parking lot. Most users work in the University of Penn Medical Center area. The free shuttle bus (runs 24 hr) will take you from the lot to a bus stop in the Medical Center area where you can board the #42 bus which will take you to the front of Independence Hall. Easy ride and cost $2.25. The lot has 50amp power, water and sewage hookups for about 8-10 rvs. Did not need reservations, they said to just show up (Might need reservation for big events in city like the Pope visiting this fall). It felt very safe with entire area fenced in and shuttle drivers there all night. Check out their website at Campus Park and Ride in Philadelphia. I would do it again if in the area.
