Walmart at San Clemente, CA.

Anyone ever spend the night at the Walmart near San Clemente Beach, California?

Thanks, Sammie

You can also run in and speak to the manager asking if it would be ok to park for the night.

I think you will find this Wal-Mart No RV Parking web site to be one of the best.

San Clemente - No RV Parking.

I've never been refused to park in a Walmart that has posted no overnight parking signs when I have gone in and talked with a manager. All usually say that the signs are up to discourage truckers from taking over their lots at night. I even stopped at one last week that had a local ordiance no overnight parking sign displayed and the manager said that the signs had been up for about 4 years, there are overnight RV'ers almost every night, and to his knowledge, no one has ever been asked to leave.

I suggest that you call even though some listing may say there is a no overnight parking sign there.

As far as security is concerned, their cameras work very well. 4 weeks ago in Great Falls, MO we stopped at a Walmart and there were 8-10 RVs already there. The state fair was going on, the campgrounds were all filled up, and RVers were parked overnight in several lots in that area of town. A couple in a 5th wheel were gone from their RV for a couple of hours and when they returned, someone had cut a steel cable and removed their portable generator from a platform on the back. They called the local police who went into the store and with a camera that was mounted on top of the store, the police were able to get a good close-up view of the theives. Fortunately, they recognized the two men who had been in trouble previously and within two hours the generator was returned to the couple by the police and the thieves are vack in jail.

I was more concerned about staying in a couple campgrounds I stayed in during this 2 month trip I just returned from than any Walmart I have stayed at.

Walmart at San Clemente, CA.

I went into a Walmart in Washington state once that had a sign for no semi's and no overnight RV 's

It was about 11 pm. I asked manager if I could park there till 6am.

Lol. I thought I stuck a stick of dynamite in his shorts. He went off on me and asked me if I could read and such. I went out of the store and felt like I had a sign stuck on my forehead saying "here your sign"

We still laugh about that. I've spoke to dozens of supervisors and Walmart managers & they have always been accommodating.

That was the only place that I ever got turned down.

I assume you mean Great Falls, Montana (MT) and not Great Fall, Missouri (MO).

I have asked permission and received it, no signs, and everybody parked, had a ticket on their windshield in the morning, including the truckers. The Walmart was Sault St. Marie, Ontario. The ticket was less than half the price of a night at a campground. I certainly could afford the ticket, but felt sorry for the truckers who are trying to make a living.

A word to the wise. Pay or deal with that ticket. The "CROWN" will dog u till you pay it!!! Or you will never be able to clear customs. Don't ask how I would ever know that!! Really a funny story but too long. Lol

Parking overnight in a lot that is posted "No Overnight Parking" is just ignorant and indicates to the general public that people in RVs have no respect for their community.

Agree but he noted that he did ask permission. But now there very well can be different laws north of the border.

I drove past the Sault Ste Marie Walmart on Aug. 8th headed to Wawa. I saw no RVs in this lot. I did see some trucks parked in front of Walmart behind the Husky House Restaurant.

Another overnight spot in Sault Ste Marie is the casino.

I gently declare:

The OP was asking about a Walmart in San Clemente, CA. USA. NOT a Walmat in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada. Wrong country.
