Want to stay near Gulf Coast in Florida
Okay, before everyone says that it is too late to make reservations, it wasn't until of late that we knew for certain that we could make it to Florida this winter.
Now, here is the dilemma. We would like to stay on the Gulf Coast side no further north than Spring Hill, nor south than Clearwater. Does anyone have a suggestion as to where they might have room for a 35 foot Motorhome, 50 amp full hookup? I have called and called, and it seems as though everyone is full.

Since you only found out recently that you would be able to make it to Florida this year, you have pretty short notice. Snowbird campgrounds along the Gulf Coast are very popular, but you may be able to get on waiting lists for cancellations at several campgrounds. If you're fairly close to the top of a couple of lists, you may be able to get in. Unfortunately, you probably won't know until the last minute.
You will have a better chance of finding vacancies if you're willing to expand your target area, especially if you're willing to move inland a bit. Inland will also likely be less expensive for similar accommodations. We stay about 35 miles inland from Spring Hill, and they almost always have a few sites that are not spoken for until fairly late.
You don't say how long you want to stay, but you might also have better luck if you stay along the coast earlier in the snowbird season, then move inland for the rest of your time in Florida. Good luck with your search.

Not sure about the distance for you but you can try Topsail Hill State Park in San Destin.

Hi Buckeyes,
While this place is just out of your geographic range you might want to consider it. It's an owner park but many folks will rent short or long term, CG managed or private leases. The office will have a listing. It's constantly changing too so you may hit just right. Good roads to ya.

This may be a tad to far south for you but there may be available sites. We have stayed here twice and have always arrived late in the season and been able to get a site. Super new facilities and a great location. Dog track 3 miles. Super fishing pier (free) just a few miles down Gandy with portable restrooms. Lots of golf courses close by. Super Walmart less than a half mile away. Every kind of restaurants and fast food places within three miles in all directions.
