Washington/ Oregon/ Northern California Beach Parks

Hello all,

Looking to do a trip late August into September. What are the best beach or near beach RV parks? I have a 38' class A with Jeep Wrangler in tow.

Thanks in Advance,

Noah

If you are taking 101 down there is so many parks from State, County, Forest Service, BLM and a few boondocking that you have your pick. I prefer Fort Stevens so I can Clam, Neahalem SP so I can ride horses, Cape Lookout SP for the sound of the ocean at night. No problem finding a place to camp if you plan, make a few reservations and try not to drive on Friday or Sunday.

You can't go wrong with any of the coast state parks in Oregon - beautiful beaches.

For Washington, Cape Disappointment State Park is very nice along with Fort Worden State Park for exploring the Olympic Peninsula.

You may also want to check into Copalis Beach, Wa. There's a park right on the beach there, but I can't remember the name.

Beach/near beach. Shoreline RV park in Crescent City is about as good as it gets in N Cal. ('Course we want FHU's.). It's recently renovated. You will love the
pull-in sites designed so your Class A is looking out at the bay. (In another section, sites where towables back in for the view out their back windows are available.). Came across another with a great oceanfront location in Brookings, Oregon. Midweek just before Thanksgiving they had lots of sites available. We didn't stay due to a heavy duty storm forecast, so don't have the name. Though not beach front, we really liked Azaela Glen in Trinidad, Ca. Morro Strand State park is another newly renovated facility that offers great back-in sites with ocean views, but that is in Central California. (Friends in the area are very touchy about the distinction.). I'm sure you know about the various park review sites out there. They will help you expand upon our suggestions.

We like FHU. So have really enjoyed Winchester Bay RV park in Ore. Also like Sea Perch just north of there.

The city of Seaside, OR has great access nearby for miles of beach driving. Check out nearby state parks. Also Longbeach, WA

The Oregon coast, especially from Astoria to Florence is just spectacular IMO

We always stay at Pacific Shores in Newport, Oregon. We also enjoyed Lewis and Clark in Astoria, and surprisingly the Costanoa KOA near Monterey, since we rarely like the KOAs.

We've always entered the beach just north of Seaside in Gearhart (sp?). Then head either north or south on the beach. Usually pretty open the further you get from the actual access road. Lots of privacy.

Jetty Fishery and RV Park in Rockaway, OR

Here's my vote for the Jetty Fishery and RV Park in Rockaway, OR. Phone 800-821-7697. Web site Home « Jetty Fishery

I recommend this IF you're looking for something a little out of the way, not very big or fancy. The fresh cooked crab and oysters are the best, but don't expect them to be served with any extras like butter or even utensils (these are available in the store for extra $). The sites along the water are awesome if you just want to watch the people crabbing from the dock or the sea lions at the sanctuary across the river.
