Anyone know of private waterfront camping with full hookups in the New England states for next summer? We are travelling in a 23' class C.

There is a state park located near the Bourne Bridge that fronts the Cape Code Canal. Plenty of trees, dirt sites, mostly electric and water but some full hookups. There is a 14 day limit and the parks is located on the Bourne side of the canal.

Also further down Rt 6 is Scusset Beach State Reservation. It's located at the mouth of the Cape Code Canal on the Cape Code Bay side. Not too many trees(scrub pine) but alot of sand.

Both state parks are locate in Massachusetts.

Do those places allow dogs? I have 2, one is an 8 year old pug/lhaso mix (30 lbs) & the other is an almost 2 year old american bulldog (70 lbs). We didn't have a great experience with off leash dogs on our first vacation with them in August. The bulldog is a little nervous with new people & other dogs & the pug feels like he has to protect him. I have read of a few properties rented by the owner with full hookups but they haven't allowed dogs. I guess I am looking for an alternative to a campground until I can get my dogs a little more socialized. Thank you!

There's also Salisbury Beach (another state partk) that is on the ocean. I've heard of Bayley's in Maine, which my friends love (I've never been there, sorry). But I am in New England, so if you find someplace in particular, I might be able to help you get more info.

PS, we took our first RV to Scusset Beach for our very first experience. I remember you needed long water hoses. Also be aware, that there are not general "dumping" areas in New England, compared to many other areas of the country.

Don't understand?? OFF leash? We've never found (in 10 years) an off leash park. Are you looking for your dogs to be off leash? Or, were others off leash and annoying yours?
Some parks (maybe 25%) have fenced areas so that the dogs can run free but, have never seen that in a governmental park. When lucky enough to find these dog runs we wait till "off hours" and let our 3 girls go.
Might also try a training class - not so much for the training but more for the socialization..............

our dogs were on leash, but other dogs in the park were not. the dogs seemed friendly enough but my bulldog is nervous & the pug is protective of him.
