Harley, we are in Grizzly now and heading for Madison in the Park tomorrow. Madison CG is about 15 miles from the west entrance and 16 miles from Old Faithful.
Glacier is our next stop before heading to Lake Mead.
Weather can change pretty quick here but at the lower elevations is predictable.

Many thanks to all who have replied. I have printed all your suggestions and have lots to study. Today we went to Old Faithful and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Today was a good wildlife day and we got lots of pictures.

Monday we plan to head over to Canyon Village to spend the day. After that we'll start at the top of this list.

Bigskymt, we passed the Madison campground today and it's busy but there's plenty of room. This is our first trip towing and I was a little afraid of negotiating the roads in the park. After seeing them today I wouldn't hesitate to drive them next time. I still don't think I'm ready for the more challenging roads to the east and north, but from the west entrance to Madison to Old faithful and back up to Norris were like freeways without the median.

Again, thanks to all...

If you do go to the Grand Canyon try to make it to both the north and south rims. 85% of the people that go there see only the south rim (lower elevation, more desert like), but in my opinion the north rim is nicer. Pine trees etc looks more like a Colorado mountain area. The down side is it is probably a 200 mile drive to it, and it may be closed this time of year because of snow. Enjoy your travels.

Just Left

Just left West Yellowstone after spending four months there. Don't miss the mac n cheese at the Wild West...have a dinner at the Branch Inn...and spend all the time you can in the park but DON'T try driving your coach between Canyon Village and Tower or Tower and Mamouth.

If you're interested in what we did, just Google "Pat and Jim Attack 2011"...you'll see it all.

Have a blast!...and if Grizzly closes before you want to leave, drive over to La Siesta on Madison (by the laundry) and ask Curt to give you a spot...he's a great guy.
