Just curious. Are you looking for places to go now (winter) or gathering ideas for next year or both?

To help narrow things down a bit, are there certain things you like to do (i.e. visit historical areas, shopping, bicycling, hiking, trains, ...maybe just relaxing).

Williamsburg Va would be a good choice also.

Shenandoah National Park. Two campgrounds will work, Big Meadows and Loft Mtn. Shenandoah Valley - try Harrisonburg/New Market KOA (open all year)Staunton/Verona KOA has lots to do there on the weekends. While in the area, visit historic Staunton and the Frontier Culture Museum. Charlottesville KOA - then visit historic Montibello, Ash Lawn, the University, and the city. Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown - lots of campgrounds there.
