Are you near Ventura? Lake Casitas was a nice park.

Look at it this way - we don't have to worry about the dam overflowing!

Lake Casitas Level

The OP has a 42' mh...no way can he/she get it over that little bridge to Twin Lakes, and I seriously doubt if it can fit anywhere in the main campground of Lake Mary. My very good friend is the camp host at the small campground at the other end of Lake Mary and maybe the OP can park there, but there's only about 10 sites. About the only place in Mammoth would be the rv park in town that can handle a mh of that size.

June lake at Oh Ridge would work, but it is mainly just a parking lot with hookups.

Glass Creek is a free BLM area and can fit large rv's but no hookups.

Further south at Lone Pine is a nice rv park (Boulder Creek) and much closer to the OPs home. Lots to do and see at Lone Pine.

Places in Bishop...again lots to do and see.

Hwy 395 has lots to offer... from 4000' to over 9000' feet.

42' is not a motorhome its a house. USFS campsites have size limits. 42' definitely limits your ability but that is op choice. Oh Ridge does not have hookups. Bishop for camping come on, only someone in a monster would do that, oh yeah right. We. Post pictures of what your missing.

Yes, it's a larger motor home. It will be our home, someday. I didn't want to buy twice.

We have a site in the park in the town of Mammoth. The park in Lone Pine looks nice - perhaps a future trip.

A great place not too far from LA is Rincon Parkway located about 20 miles south of Santa Barbara on the old highway 1 adjacent to the ocean. About 200 spots marked off and cost is less than $30 per night. Dry camping. First come first serve, but get there early in the day on Thursday or Friday and you usually can get a spot. Run by Ventura County parks. Will accomodate a 45 foot motorhome.
