We live in Florida so once a year is all we can do. For the past 10 years we've been going to Moab then on to Buena Vista, CO when it gets too hot. We, until last year, were doing extreme stuff too. But, I'm feeling too old to continue at that level. We'll be doing the 6,7 and 8 stuff now. We've never been to Tucson and have heard there's some good stuff around there. So, that's where we're headed. We'll be in Moab 4/11 thru 5/15 or so.

Kix, the Gypsy Journal RV Travel Newspaper Camping Boondocking Dry Campingwebsite might have some information. Nick Russel owns and operates this website and sells a book of free camping spots. He has a sampling on the site.

It has 50 amp, cable, wifi, plus a restaurant(till 11pm), motel, and truck stop(24hr). Christmas is just another business day. There is also a little car museum there. An oil man created this little oasis out in the middle of nowhere. Park at a site, then walk across the street to the motel to pay. There are about 95 pull thrus. There are curbed islands at each site that make it a little tight with our 42' Signature + FJ Cruiser toad.

I can vouch for this place...it's pretty cool.
