West Yellowstone to east Glacier National Park

What a great forum with so much great advice! I have not been steered wrong yet! What is the easiest route from West Yellowstone to East Glacier National Park? Not necessarily the fastest, but the easiest.

Don't know if its easiest or not but just take US-287 north, goes straight there. There are limited services on the east side of Glacier. We usually stay on the west side in Hungry Horse.

We were in West Glacier middle of June. If your intent is to drive the Going to the Sun road it was closed from Logan Pass to St Mary and is not due to open until sometime late summer. It is open from West Glacier to Logan Pass. Just offered as information. Have a good trip.

Wife & I have been at Glacier National Park yesterday and today. There is road work being done on Going to the Sun road but it is open. Only about a 20 minute delay each time we crossed over. From what I've seen, there is much more restaurants and shops on the west side of the park. We are staying in Hungry Horse and it is very convenient. We are leaving tomorrow morning and headed to I-90E. According to the RV park owner here, MT-83 is a good route and that's what I'm going to take. There are a couple of other highways you have to take on each end but they are also good. On the way up here my route from Idaho was well marked with the brown Glacier National Park signs giving directions when turns were required.
