What campground is near Washington DC

Looking for a campground that is nearest to Washington DC?

Two years ago I posted the same question and Cherry Hill was the overwhelming favorite of those who replied. We spent a week there and found it to be perfect... although a bit pricey but you are in DC.

Probably the best things about it is how easy it is to get to the metro and therefore all of the attractions. You DON'T want to be driving into DC every day.

Also try Bull Run Regional and Pohick Bay Regional Parks. They are owned by Fairfax County.

If you dry camp Greenbelt National Park is close to the capitol area (bvut seems very remote). There is no public transportation available so you need a way to get around.
