What Do IRV2ers think of this??
Found this on a campground's website tonight. This just cheeses me OFF!
"Entrance to [Campground Name Redacted] constitutes permission for park personnel to photograph anyone while on premises and to use resulting pictures for marketing without compensation or permission of the individual(s)."
IANAL but this just reeks of 1st Amendment violation... After all, one's own image is a constitutional "expression," amirite??
Or am I, as Sally often says, overreacting? I'll go with the consensus here.

Without knowing the state it is very difficult to know if any violation occurred or not. In some states commercial use of one's image is strictly governed.
Maybe giving them the one finger salute would help solve the problem
Pretty good writeup on Stanford University's website:
https://fairuse.stanford.edu/overview/releases/when/
I would say this campground is "at risk" for sure.

1st amendment doesn't apply IMO as it protects speech from govt, not campground owners, interference. no right to privacy either.

Yes - you are being recorded everywhere you go outside your house.
The RV park just told you about it.

Yes and I too think you are over reacting. I guess it's the marketing part that you don't like?

If they are using it for marketing purposes then there definitely is a problem here.
As a photographer I always get a signed release either before or after a shot/shots are taken.
Commercial use of images is a "whole nother world" from simple snapshots

I've seen it before, also as a condition of employment at a park. They've told you in advance and you are free to go on down the road.

You have no expected right to privacy what you're in a public place

You sure? It's on their land and they told you about it.
I've been part of newspaper articles before and the photographer does ask for name and consent. This is different IMO.

It's not an "expected right to privacy issue." It's a commercial use of your image/likeness without compensation issue.
But yeah, the OP is overreacting unless he/she makes their living from their image/likeness.

I think it is not much of a concern. Just have a good time.
They did tell you and of course, you are free to leave if that bothers you.
