Cherry Creek State Park Aurora, CO. Not a resort per se, but great pull-through sites. You can watch deer and other wild life right out your windows. Close to light rail to downtown Denver.

Thanks! I will definitely keep that in mind as we plan our summer trip.

We are full-timing and really like the nicer RV resorts with amenities and beautiful landscaping. These are our favorites (so far):

Pacific Shores is probably our all-time favorite. It would be hard for any 5 star hotel to beat the view.

Best so far has been Sunnybrook RV resort in South Haven, MI

Great park, great amenities and very nice owners

Camped in a 37' Palazzo and enjoyed everyday!

We've been to Borrego Springs, and while it was a nice little oasis for lunch, we didn't find that much to do there. It was a day trip from Oceanside, CA. Very nice little community however. I wanted to stay so we could do some star gazing, but that didn't pan out.

MountainDale RV park in Colorado Springs. My family lived in the old house there 50 years ago before it was an RV park. The owner is always concerned about making the park more comfortable for visitors. Lots of extra touches and maintenance to keep the park clean and updated.

You will not be disappointed. Well, internet access is not the best but other than that it is a beautiful park.

Yes, we go there quite a bit. Really like it. As far as fairly local RV resorts are concerned, I'd put it up there at the top. We like Destin West better than Camp Gulf - less crowded and less kids running around .. but that's just us.

We've been to Heritage, Bella Terra and Lake Osprey. Our preference is Bella Terra. Heritage was nice, but felt cramped. Lake Osprey was really nice, but a bit farther out than Bella Terra. Have yet to do Buena Vista ... tried to in June for a weekend, but they aren't budging on the price - $90 min per night. Nope - not going there ... would rather go to Bella Terra for $35!

Forgot to mention - Blue Water Key in the Keys .... very hard to beat that place, it's beautiful, on the water and you can get a Tiki hut with running water and a refrigerator!

Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort. Not the same as the marina one with similar name mentioned by a couple of others already. HHIMR is actually on the island, only a mile or so from Coligny Beach. Driving through the gate is definitely like entering a resort property. 60 lush acres with top notch amenities and finishes (marble countertops and hairdryers in the bathrooms), beautiful landscaping. Peaceful, quiet. In fact, we became so smitten with it we recently purchased one of the lots (all 401 lots in this resort are privately owned and about 20% of them are available as rentals when the owners are not there). You can select your site at the time you make a reservation--photos of each site are available on the website to help you decide. Some lots are heavily shaded, others are open overhead. Many have been wonderfully improved to accommodate larger coaches (ours--282--is astonishingly so ) and others are smaller and more austere. Probably why you read a variety of reviews on this resort...

Fallbrook in north Houston, TX is quite nice and very well managed. Newer park, mostly concrete (grass between the pads), small lake, good lighting, nice amenities (even a dog wash!) and gated access. Not a place I would necessarily seek out as a vacation spot but if you are going to be in that area on business (which I was), for medical treatment, or just passing through it is a great choice.

Holiday Trav-L-Park in Emerald Isle, NC is our local place to go. Oceanfront. Grass sites, some level, some less so. Picnic table at each site, but that's all. Very well kept up. Exceptionally clean bathhouse and laundry area. Short walk over the dunes and you are on the beach!

Hilton Head Harbor is also actually on Hilton Head Island. It's about 1/2 mile on the left from the end of the causeway.
